Raw Truth

Did you forget me?
I know you have no excuse not to return the calls.
You dodge me like I’m a plague or something,
Is it because I’m not like you?

You never had a problem in the past,
Before you knew the fact that I’m not what you thought.
You accepted me then for what I was,
Why should that change?

I’m still the same person if you found out or not,
Why should it change things now?
You know what I really am,
So why are you not responding?

It’s because I’m different,
You view me differently now don’t you?
You stopped responding to me shows me who you really are,
I don’t fit into your little perfect world now.

I see it now and it shows how shallow you are,
Just because you know that I am not what you thought I was.
Forget that I’m nonreligious. Forget that I live alternatively.
You just don’t like the fact that my soul is different from a human…

Author notes

i have a lot of "human" or "mortal" whatever you wanna call them that don't live any sort of alternative or subculture (goth, furry, raver, punk, whatever.) they are simply the "normal" people in society.

i've been wondering why one of my friends acts funny around me in recent months, well.... now it clicked today... and the poem explains it.

i think its can be for anyone that has those friends before they find out what they are or who they really are that don't want to accept the fact that they are really and truely that thing.

what do you think?

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!
