It's Our Life. (Sci-Fi)

As I was on a trip of exploration,
I found odd ruins from another nation.
I saw weird metal objects everywhere,
my inner senses telling me beware.
I kept on looking without hesitation,
I found a ledger with an explanation.
Here are the words I found right there,
I didn't change a thing on this I swear.
It is a journey of a generation,
leaving a planet of degeneration.
The land was dying and becoming bare,
the water's poison and they're losing air.

It's our life.
Be careful what you're doing, it's our life.
We're killing our home planet, it's our life.
Where next can we be going? It's our life.
We're killing our home planet, it's our life.
It's... our... life.

They started countdown with no destination,
their only worry save the human nation.
They took as many as they could cause they cared,
still some stayed because they wouldn't dare.
Earth was the planet of initiation,
that's where they started their great migration.
They knew they had to make a home somewhere,
they couldn't float in space to die in nowhere.
It took a lot of time and innovation,
just to stay alive and start immigration.
But once they found a place that they could declare,
as a home for once they were now there.

It's our life.
Be careful what you're doing, it's our life.
We're killing our home planet, it's our life.
Where next can we be going? It's our life.
We're killing our home planet, it's our life.
It's... our... life.

I kept on reading of their civilization,
how they flourished with out hesitation.
I learned my ancestors lived a nightmare,
they made accomplishments then got no fanfare.
The ledger ended with some registrations,
they started making lots of regulations.
There was deceit and lies they wrote a prayer,
they were stuck here ship's beyond repair.
I sat in darkness with my imagination,
my mind was filled with pure fascination.
I should tell someone make them aware,
there's steps to take we should prepare.

It's our life.
Be careful what you're doing, it's our life.
We're killing our home planet, it's our life.
Where next can we be going? It's our life.
We're killing our home planet, it's our life.
It's... our... life.

They could read this and get motivation,
save our world prevent this situation.
But in my heart I know that no one cares,
they worry only of their own affairs.
I handed over my complete translation,
I felt it was my human obligation.
I had my head down as I heard the tear,
felt like a rabbit caught up in a snare.
Instead of honors I got interrogation,
thrown in prison stuck in isolation.
The words still haunt me as I sit and stare,
voices chime in as from everywhere.

It's our life.
Be careful what you're doing, it's our life.
We're killing our home planet, it's our life.
Where next can we be going? It's our life.
We're killing our home planet, it's our life.
It's... our... life.

    HOODWINKED!

Powerful poetic reminder that we need to be responsible for our planet if we are to survive. Every little good deed done to save our planet is worthwhile and will be benefitual for future generations. Quite a haunting refrain used in this poem, it will not be soon forgotten. We done! Write On!

You have been Hoodwinked today by the Poetic Bandits because WE CARE!

    HOODWINKED!

A word of warning in each line of your poem, that should make people more aware of what is going on around them. And excellent use of meter and rhyme.

    Hoodwink

A very good messeage in this sci fi. I love your imagination and the flow. The repeats tend to serve as a good warning. Keep on penning like this. Your reads are very enjoyable. Congrats on being hoodwinked.
    God bless you,

    Fantastic

I think you have done an excellent job at getting to the read. Every thought carefully thought out Ask yourself is this our home planet? I think not we came from another universe somewhere in space. Only we can control our own life and nobody else can take our place. Again this is fantastic in it's unique way. Keep the pen flowing and may it never run out of ink.
