Jesus Was A Necromancer

This town has no voice
These people are watching
A man raise the dead
Alone and maloti.

The sun peeling back
As he conjures from spirit
Ether realm servants
and chalk circle deterrents

Barefoot and in rhythm
This celestial dancer
More than a carpenter
Jesus was a Necromancer.

What irony, that in his time Jesus represented an inversion, if not a rebellion, against the status quo. And here today, he is now the status quo and faces the same troubles as his precessors did then!

I have not the intelligence nor wisdom o adequately comment, critique this piece...I am actually entertained by the comments/critiques you have received on it thus far....I just accept it as a very good write and say a job well done....and that is defined the same way in Websters or in a video game..

I guess everything's in the eyes of perception...you always have a different way of expressing words...although...I'd say you're touching a fine line here...most will see a possible compliment...yet some will see slight insult...some won't see anything..and just say it was great...I consider this write is deep of the mind...but lacks true understanding of the purpose of what most see to be the life Christ lead...though each to their own...as a poem...it's excellent...for what it says...you seem a little off...off enough to be confusing...but almost seem right...the world and the spiritual are two different things...to tie them together...we must see the purpose...Jesus performed Miracles...and only perfessed that it was God His Father that changed those impossibles into possible...He used no mediums...nor protection..He had mere Faith...as far as I understand the scriptures...but of course..I still only have just another view to add...so I'll stop such nonesense..you definetly have a way with words sir...may you always write with such depth..but may you not let the world influence your views...we're all in this together...who knows who's right or wrong?...but what awesome expression is found from true poets as yourself...I say I don't eggzacitically agree with your interpretation here...but I always Love how your writes make us all think..and usually we have to look up a word or two...sorry my comment stretched a little long...but great poetry causes for such things...take care...God Bless...

Geeze, models!! All about the package, but nothing inside! Necromancy isn't about raising, or bringing the dead back to life Einstein! But don't take my word for it, have a look at what old Mr. Webster says about it:

    Necromancy

    Pronunciation: 'ne-kr&-"man(t)-sE
    Function: noun
Etymology: alteration of Middle English nigromancie, from Middle French, from Medieval Latin nigromantia, by folk etymology from Late Latin necromantia, from Late Greek nekromanteia, from Greek nekr- + -manteia -mancy

1 : conjuration of the spirits of the dead for purposes of magically revealing the future or influencing the course of events

    2 : Black Magic, Sorcery

That would be conjuration of the spirits of the dead, NOT RAISING THE FRICKIN' DEAD!!!! Therefore, your argument is INCOMPETENT!!! Next time, look up the word in something other than a Dungeons and Dragons handbook!

This is definitely winning the contest. Woah. An intelligent, thoughtful religious poem that is reverent without being sappy and stereotypical. I loved the fantastical images of chalk circles and such-absolutely awesome.

As promised, or something close to that, I came back to re-read. I get it now, no worries. I think you have to be a trifle intoxicated to properly appreciate this sort of thing.

Amongst other things, assuming, this is the same jesus i think i met once. Once again, a few words i had to look up, but still, the voice was conducted well...A piece to read with a fist in the air, and waving a pie in the other. jestful.
    Peace

I do have to give you a nod of the utmost respect for this. It is intelligent and makes quite a point to me. Something I have to say "Bravo" to. Good one here. Got to be my favorite horus poem yet.

Manicotti's my favourite, my ass is made completely of ricotta.
Quentin Tarentino just paid Dave 25,000 for a 40 second sound bite from one of dave's movies for Kill Bill2.

Actually, chalked circle deterrents seem a bit odd here. Yah...I can see a necromancer needing 'em -- but Jesus??? Hell, he has the Big Guy on his side. I think he'd dispense with protection and just pop that sucker back on his feet in seconds flat.

But...what do I know 'bout raising the dead? Nutt'in Honey.

Your riposte to william was very good!
Lots of reaction, not much commentary on the poem itself.
Maloti puzzled me too. I was unable to find it online (did a surface search)

The prefix 'mal' has negative qualities but 'oti' is the killer here. Without the root language, it is almost imposible to fathom.

Would it be chalked circle deterrents as opposed to chalk circled?

We know that history is written by the 'winner' and rarely depicts the true picture except as seen by imperfect eyes. And given that witness accounts are usually so different, it is surprising that the four gospels, M,M,L & J are so similar.
Since the bible rests on faith someone asking for evidence is ludicrous!
An intiguing look at a bible story.
No comments on grammar, spelling etc. None needed!
    Great little write Hor

loti: a currency unit in Lesotho. 100 lisente = one loti. Maloti...plural of loti.
Also: Sotho, from Maloti, a range of mountains in Lesotho
LoTi is also an acronym for Level of Technology Implementation.

I see someone else did the research as I did, and they too, are looking to connect this with your poem. I can see everyone sitting around their tables going.."Maloti, what's that?" "I dunno, what is that"...someone rips out a dictionary, looks it up...still more research may be required. Way to go to get the audience chinwagging. Best of luck in the competion.

so you are saying that jesus was a sorcerer yeah maybe, but on the other hand I think he was a simple man with his own beliefs that studied all areas of releigon and other thinngs that dated back to as far as he could research, but on the other hand he did work magic didn't he, another great write from you good luck

    interesting spin
    jesus as a conjurer
am always entralled by people's take on this man
must admit to ignorance as to the word maloti
from what i can find, it is either an african monetary unit
    or mountains in lesotho
please don't tell me what the connection is...
want to try to figure it out on my own.

This isn't something I think I'd ever expected to read from you. What's maloti though? I couldn't find that one. Found it was the plural of loti, but it didn't tell what loti meant.

    Nice work.
