My Bitterness: The Bitter Hearts Waltz

Deep inside this bottomless void
I sit and wait for you to come.
Deep inside this bottomless void
I sit and wait... I see no one.

Deep inside this bottomless heart
I sit and wait for you to love.
Deep inside this bottomless heart
I sit and wait... for you to shove.

Deep inside this empty mind
I sit and wait for you to try.
Deep inside this empty mind
I sit and wait... for you to lie.

Deep inside this dead soul
I sit and wait for you to care.
Deep inside this dead soul
I sit and wait... for you to dare.

Deep inside this shallow grave
I sit and wait for you to come.
Deep inside this shallow grave
I sit and wait... for you to be done.

Deep inside this shell
I sit and wait for you to say goodbye.
Deep inside this shell
I sit and wait for you to die...

Author notes

I wrote this poem last month. I'm not sure why I care for some people of my past... I need to learn to focus on the people who really matter. Enjoy.

the title is awesome so very good job on that. I dont mind the repetitiveness, it sets up a flow for the poem. I think the ending is especially bitter and wraps the poem up really good. Good job.

  • Slightly repetitive, but you make it work. There is a definite sense of being unable to let go in this piece, something that I think we all struggle with from time to time. Sometimes people just infect us so deeply that even though we know it's not good for us, we just find them hard to quit.

Excellent write and a joy to read, shall be reading more when time permits.

    • Thank you.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Your comment really made my day! I'm glad you interpreted it the way I wanted people to, as well.

      Thanks again!
