There was a time when my heart would always drift back to you...
Much like a vagabond, that had finally found his place.
But deep in my mind I am a wayfarer, who knows when his time is up.
Bye, bye beautiful.
Yet through the ages of sorrow, my soul has awakened....
And realized its purpose, and it is not for you.
It is something all my own, not to be tarnished by the blackness in your eyes.
Die, die beautiful.
It took me so long, to tread this vacant path...
Through regret and and despair that pulled me far under.
Why did it take so long for this healing to begin?
Perhaps it was the firmament above me, leading me astray.
I counted the days with my eyes sealed shut...
Cursing the heavens above me, in an endless mantra.
Until I awoke from this nightmare, to glare into the blinding light.
And only now can I see the dawn of my new day, it has never looked as good as this.
Die, die beautiful. Die, die, die, die, die...

Beautiful imagery...very creative...finally someone actually read the instructions! Every line captivated me and made me think.
I loved this take on "Bye Bye Beautiful." Thanks so much for entering! -
When I read this, I could honestly hear music to it in my head, which doesn't happen often when I read people's writing. But it just flowed so well and I can imagine it being a great song.
