I can't fall asleep
Just Can't close my eyes
Every breathe I take
A peice of my soul dies
It's like trying so hard after giving up
Like seeing something then losing sight
No matter what you do you can't feel
Like losing strength during a fight
My legs go numb and my feet
Body feeling drained almost weak
So much pain in little time
Feels like mentally falling off the peak
My mind hurts, pounding like a drum
Hurting like Hell, Maybe I'm mentally ill
I wish someone would stomp on me
Like a bug in the window sill
The nights at rest with the earth
Feels like the human race is extinct
Wake up in the morning it was a dream
No wonder it was so very distinct.
Do you like it?

Wow, this poem makes me tired. All we want is to rest. At least, I'm assuming most people want this. We want to rest physically, mentally, emotionally. Like I said in the chat room, life sucks and everyday it will beat the living shit out of you. So, it's a given to feel drained in all three ways. But, as tired as we are, we all suffer from emotional, physical, and mental insomnia from time to time.

i love the ending
The nights at rest with the earth
Feels like the human race is extinct
Wake up in the morning it was a dream
No wonder it was so very distinct.

I love how descriptive you are in this poem (I hope I wrote it right) An insight to your dream world. Beautiful.
