...between my fingers
your hair diffuses its secret shine
with the softness of liquid silver...
Illusive dreams slip away
behind curtains of light.
Hesitating morning arrives.
Under my eyelids
a wet, shivery moment
of aurora borealis.
Like a puppy
I try to curl up into a ball
to keep the silent warmth,
trying to fix the big hole
that nostalgia has drilled inside me.

Congratrulations on the Silver Cup!!
I love these lines:
"trying to fix the big hole
that nostalgia has drilled inside me."
I sometimes feel as though I fell into a big hole, so I know what you mean.
Write on, Poetess!!
Peace & hugs,
xx Cyn xx

it's always a pleasure, Sonja.

Dreams
sometimes are better than memories for we can shape a dream to what we want but must live good or bad the memories we keep.

Powerful!
Loved this, and congrats!

If only we could hold onto those dreams sometimes. This is beautifully done. The subtle sadness at the end is so touching. I have felt that feeling before.

I agree, you've found all the shades of love, of which nostalgia is one too, in this poem, Sonja. beautifully expressed as only you can.

A beautiful write. You paint a delightful picture of shades in this piece. Good imagery, flow and tone. Vivid descriptives. Nice use of simile. Well penned and much enjoyed. Best wishes in the contest.
