To My Future Regret

And the fear flows in souring my veins
As the pulse of the past forever sustains

Your eyes of every spectrum
cry for me
invite me
enlighten me

While your fingertips imperfectly callassed
reach for cardinals in the morning
and orion in the evening
While resting your sweet palms into mine

The touch of your eyes scanning my spirit
Your spectral lips hush my screams of terror
While your perfect warmth paralyzes my soul
in a way I've never known..

And the fear flows in souring my veins
As the pulse of the past forever sustains

Author notes

First cheezy poem hehe on a serious note.. having a rough childhood has always been an obstical when its come to being close to somebody. I find it difficult to trust, basically what this is about. I'm not sure if it's my best. Feedback would be greatly appreciated

"You cannot teach a man anything; you can only help him find it within himself"

I read a fair few poems on this site when i come on, i try my hardest to come up with an original coment for them at the same time but here i don't need to think about what i am to say.

A lot of poems written here are expressing emotion, most often it's emotions that we are acustomed to, like love and hatred or abuse but the poems them selves would never really seem in place if put into a portfollio and descovered in a million years with some of "the 21st century's best bits". This however could fit in quite neatly, i wouldn't be suprised to find it in a book of famous poems one day. Of course it could use an od touch up maybe replacing a few words here and there so aid in the flow of things but other than that you've buttered many turnips.

Best of luck with your writting,
    Gorecki

I'm familiar with the childhood thing, and you're absolutely right. However I've found that despite that, people in general just can't be trusted. Trust must be earned, and then forever maintained. No relationship, business, nor casual or other can be sustained without constant communication and trust. Unfortunately, that's too much to ask for some people.

Opening the gates to the walls of your heart, even though you know the horse is full of betrayal and (the) death (of romance).
The fear and wonder of love, seems like one cosmic roller coaster ride.

"You cannot teach a man anything...", is that a quote about humans, or do you just think guys are old dogs with the potential for new tricks ?
