Redbirds, Huey and Winter

Winter is here.
Temperatures falling,
Snow abounding,
But the Redbird stays and thrives.

The Redbird is here.
Temperatures falling,
Snow abounding,
But winter does not drive the Redbird away.

So each day,
I plant some seed.
Amongest the falling temperatures and abounding snow,
For my friend the Redbird.

My cat Huey,
Watches patiently from inside.
Within the warmth of our home,
And with the warmth of my heart.

The Redbird may not have,
The warmth of our home.
But he has the warmth
of my heart (and Huey’s too).

So winter is here.
Temperatures falling,
Snow abounding,
But the Redbird stay and thrives.

I like to think,
The Redbird stays,
To warm my heart,
And thrive from my warmth in my heart in return.

What did you think? Does nature bring joy?
