Rewind

I cringe thinking of crows picking my bones
throw stones, run off, get caught up with the clones
walking along I feel like I've been blinded
sometimes wishing life could be rewinded
take my mistakes that today cause my aches
change up the past and go raise the stakes
but my past has been written, published, and closed
all that ever was is have and will be I chose.

A scrap of paper, torn at the edge
scrawl across the page, I'm just a fledge
tryna learn the rules but it all comes fast
and somehow I always end up coming in last
another rainy day, the clouds looking ominous
I just need to sit back and try to act calm in this
'cause when the sun comes out and brings the heat
things are gonna turn up and I'll grab a fresh sheet.

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

  • Wrong person. Sorry, Lindsie. Now, if I got your name wrong I'll feel really silly. I can't see how to delete the comment I left... hmmm... it was so much like Rosita Bonita (don't know her user name, she keeps changing it and I haven't been here for a while).

  • I know that you write some things from yourself, but I still truly believe that you write "through" you about other people.
