lluvia ácida (acid rain)

      lluvia ácida

olvidando
que el verano
ya está sumergido
en mi corazon
y que ya cumplí
alegría de edad

yo canto de tí
todavía:

como no sabía
cuando éra niña,
como canta un
mendigo viejo
qui perdió el valor
de mendigar.

estoy un poema
sobre tí
escribido en voz
pasiva

y eso me está
matando.

Transl.:

        acid rain

forgetting
that summer has
already sunk in
on my heart
and that i’ve
already turned
joyful years of age

i sing of you
still:

as i didn’t know
when i was little,
as an old beggar
who’s lost the courage
to beg.

i am a poem
about you
written
in passive voice

and this kills me.

I love it expecially the last stanza and the free verse.I wish I could say more, but unfortunately I can't.
I wish I could understand spanish, but I can't do that either.

  • this is brilliant - especially in spanish.

that ending.....oh, it just plucks every string of my heart, leaving me with a sustained gentle tremelo inside. simply stunning poetry, diana. i wish i could read this poem in spanish, but i can only manage afrikaans, german or dutch, lol. loved this one, such power and impact in it's simplicity.

Hmm... I wonder what exactly you mean now, hehe. But I'm sure things can become alright again somehow. Thanks for the comment!
