why is a boiled egg so hard to beat?
what do they add to sugar to make it so sweet?
how big is a garden if three feet make a yard ?
and how can making soft ice cream be so hard?
why do they say to turn left is alright?
why is it dark in the middle of the night?
why do we say high instead of hell low?
all these things i would like to know
there are many strange things we say and do
we nod and say of course when we havent got a clue
we have kid knees even when we're grown
we can be in a full room yet still be alone
we say back in a moment when we mean a lot more
we talk to the telephone and nod at the floor
they say sale items go cheap when they dont make a noise
and some people play with feelings, perhaps they have no toys?
some people tell us that they hate
favourite contest but just cant wait
to get their faves to write for them
but dont allow them pencil or pen!
oh what a confusing world this is
good job i live in ignorant bliss

oh, this is too cute...
I just love the play on words... I also often think about the meanings of things we do and say as well as where they came from. For example; "take it with a grain of salt." I always wondered why it isn't sugar; but I realize salt makes things less bitter I guess. I agree more with Mary Poppins though - about a spoonful of sugar... lol's hope you are well and that life and you are treating each other goodl. missing you... you were one of the first people who welcomed me to ap almost three years ago, and made me feel so welcome...

I like all of the questions you have come up with in this write. The comparisons and word play really make the reader think.
"There are many strange things that we say or do", so I am staying in my little bubble where I will be safe.
