fancy haircuts are over-rated
their emphasis on fashion is over-stated
so much attention to flips and curls
the dyeing of roots and flattening of whirls
some women fuss over their pompadour
while others let their hair grow to the floor
some men fear their hairless fate
and resort to comb-overs to hide their pate
some use haircuts to be unique
while others strive for hair that's très chic
mohawks and mullets come and go
offspring of the vainglorious show
my hair is a nest of frizzes and waves
but I don't care how it looks or behaves
I watch my forehead grow higher each year
soon my hair will be gone, but I won't shed a tear
and when my head is finally bare
I'll say bon voyage to the last falling hair
with a wave I'll bid it a fond adieu
as I think of the money I'll save on shampoo

This is a really cute poem, although, I must tell you that I am a hairdresser, and I depend on those who care about their hair to earn my living. I love my work, it is fun, and creative, and I make people feel better about themselves all day long. I'm glad everyone doesn't feel the way you do, or I would be out of business...lol. This is an awesome poem regardless.

ah it's you! That was an instant poem, I thought contest was already closed when I came online earlier. Thank you for this late night (yours) humour

So true, all of it! This is very funny, you added humour to real facts and did it very well.
Thanks for the chuckles.
