Beaten and confused

Here I am Lord, beaten down and dismantled

My life disintegrating right before my face

My strength stolen away from my flesh, like a beggar stealing to feed his stomach

The hope I had yesterday is either left, or is playing deceased

Right when I thought things made sense, I get swept from under my feet

Satan won't leave me alone, from his jaw pours out my blood

The wolf has feasted and left me in shambles, and loss of all my hope

Time and time again I declare, Jesus is my Fortress

So what exactly am I doing wrong, to get left outside its doors

No that can't be true because God makes no mistakes

I must cease giving into the devil, for his path is death and fire

Who now shall I turn to? Yes the lord of Hosts

Jesus Christ has set me free, and declared liberation!

Even when times grow weary, I must set my mindsets high

I declare freedom for all who believe in the name of Jesus Christ!

    the metaphors and personification with strength and beggars and hope deceased were really creative. it was good. a real portrayal of the christian walk. the sad part where all hope is lost is where i am right now. i guess sometimes i just need to remember that Jesus has set me free and declared liberation.
    very good poem. and whatever you are or were going through just remember the end of your poem.

      Just remember anything thats comming againts you is not from the Lord. Satan wants you to think there is no hope. But he is a liar because there is hope!!! Just call out to Jesus and ask him to come into you life, wash your sins away, and begin to trust in Him, I promise you it's worth it...God bless you and thanks for the kind words, they were just what I needed.

    The Lord is not going to give you no more then you can handle, just when you think that it's over for you the God we serve steps in at the right moment in our lives and help stop all the pain that you and I are dealing with, the devil cant do anything to us unless we let him do it, the devil can only do his work on us if we turn our backs on God and give into his temptation, but as long as we stay prayed up an keep calling on God for his help in our lives we can take all of the beatings like jesus took before they put him on the cross. If jesus can take his abuse in a human form on earth why can't we all do the same we all have God in us if we stay on Gods path good things in time will come, If we choose the devils path nothing good will come to us but pain and destruction what a price to pay when you choose the devil to work for over God.
