Can You Hear Me?

This pillar has been leaned on
Time and time again
It can't breathe anymore
I can't breathe.

This pillar has been leaned on
And now it is collapsing
It has broken from the weight
Of endless demands.

This contagious disease
Lurks and strikes when
You have fallen down
When I have fallen.

I keep falling
My pillar has collapsed
I was your pillar
Yet I collapsed.

I can't bare your cross
Any more than I can bare
Myself or my own
My emotions are gone.

There is no life here...

I like this. So are you the pillar and people counted(leaned) on you? There's many ways to interpret this and this is relateable and I understood it in my own way, this poem is very easy to make it personal which is great. Great job.

    • Thank you.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comments!! It means a lot to me since your poetry is so inspirational for me. (No lie!)

I'm glad people can relate. I like that people can interpret this in many different ways, too. Thanks again.
