Clouds consume me,
pouring rain.
Washing through me,
cleansing pain.
Thunder chases,
each lightening flash.
Past and present,
with future clash.
Becoming who,
I wish to be.
Finally setting,
past thoughts free.
Growing and learning,
how to survive.
Weeping and laughing,
even saying good-bye.
Wind whips around me,
blow it away.
Someday I'll find me,
someday I'll stay.
Thoughts never-ending,
race through my mind.
Unhealthy reminders,
of years so unkind.
Slowly I fight them,
slowly I win.
My eyes are now open,
new life can begin.
