I do not know if you are with me –
I cannot find the way back home.
A tree I see may hold your eyes, a vibrant
green of distant understanding and the sky
your skin, the pale of unsurprising closeness.
I have tried to find you in the clouds,
can see you – barely – wrapped in heavy cotton and
with every footstep in the mud
I have signed your name.

Wow, I love this poem. I really like how you described the person in comparison with the sky and the trees and such. The last line really brought the whole poem together.
