A poet without inspiration
isn't a poet at all
their heart is locked up in a cell
their passion hidden in a space so small
Smothered by a loss of words
that never again will flow
And crushed beneath a weight of pain
Oh where did their muse go
The smile has melted
from the poets face
with no way to tell the world
the feelings have simply been erased
the person who once
wear their heart upon their sleeves
no longer has a passion
or a desire to achieve
No longer to hear and write
the passion, the pain, the love in lives call
for truly a poet without inspiration
simply is not a poet at all

I really enjoyed reading this poem. I love poems that come from feelings. This was sad, but beautifully written. "Smothered by a loss of words
that never again will flow
And crushed beneath a weight of pain
Oh where did their muse go" I really liked that stanza. You did a wonderful job. Thanks for entering and Good luck in my contest.
