Surrender Judgment

Surrender
surrender to outcome
try not to control
What is good, what is bad
nobody knows

Intention of action
puts the universe in action
Wish for no looser
what’s best for all to happen
it will be so

Detach from outcome
accept what is
Surrendering is not weakness
it is great wisdom
peace of mind
of what is so

We go from here without fear
intention of action
puts the universe in action
Detachment from outcome
is peaceful wisdom

The sound of your poem combined with its use of repetition makes for a pleasant read. Surrender at least, it seems to me, in the eyes of the world is weakness. But as a follower of Christ I am supposed to surrender. He surrendered to the cross and that certainly was not weakness. Yet I find surrender difficult at times.I think you've touched on an interesting subject here.

Thanks for reading and commenting. Yes, surrendering is something I am working on, myself. It seems counter-intuitive, but I think it is what works. - Bonita

I found this by accident and I have to say |I don't really like it but nonetheless I wish you well. I found it a bit bland.

I agree...as there really is nothing you can do sometimes about some things. The less you try to control, sometimes, the easier things flow.

    Great piece

  • Good.

    Very true. Nice.

I'm going to take a guess in the dark and say your a Mary Oliver fan? Your voice seems similar to hers. This poem needs a better flow and more direction. The moral at the end is interesting, very eastern religion, kind of like Taoism or Buddhism. I would like more imagery in this poem not to say that having imagery is necessarily a good thing, I just personal like it.

  • So true and that is the secret of the peace..well conceived poetry..and strong words..love it..well done...and many thanks for the entry...

  • These are indeed wise words. I find it's mostly your message here that conflicts with the law of attraction. not that the law itself isn't true, I wouldn't doubt that it works. but if an outcome in the world, a very specific wealth enhancing outcome for example, is what the person thinks they want they'll miss out on this level of wisdom that they actually want underneath the material desires.

That being said I'm gonna listen to my 80 gig ipod with the 100 dollar special noise cancellation headphones and then do some online shopping at amazon, although my 'secret' is more of the 'I have a job that gives me regular pay' variety. I don't post a picture of an ipod on my wall and wake up every morning staring at it like they did in the movie 'The Secret'. Maybe I'll do that for the 120 gig one

    • Very wise words, my friend. LOA brings us what we ask for, not necessarily what will bring us the most peace and happiness.

Plus, I believe, the attraction is a combination of conscious thoughts and emotions and those that are subconscious. So, what is reflected back is not necessarily what we consciously intend. It is much more complex than it is made out to be, in my opinion.

How we react to our last scene of attraction, fear or love, determines what comes next. Thus, we must surrender judgment to acceptance.

  • So gracefully the words spell out the message,
but so difficult for many to accept...
    Indeed, "peaceful wisdom."

  • well done

  • Wonderful Bonita, that last verse is so in line with a poem I have recently written(but not put on the site), it's remarkable, well done
