Perfect on the outside

The world is a blur around me
People are talking but I don’t hear what they say
I nod and laugh and pretend to care
My outer shell is perfect, no one will ever know
That my outer shell is a complete lie
The smiles I smile are all fake
No one will ever see what’s raging inside me
The swirl of pain and hate that consumes my entire being
