There comes a time in all our lives
where we face our darkest hour.
Tears cloud our vision
and we feel so over powered.
When everything we have worked for,
life, family, job and home.
It only takes a moment to wipe it away,
and your left standing all alone.
I thought we had it all,
together you and I could face the trials.
Maybe we never had love there,
maybe I was in denial.
Seeing my children born,
holding your hand lovingly through all our pain.
Trying my best to make you happy,
I never once complained.
I let you do what you wanted,
Turned my head when you found another.
Sat here with our children when you didn't come home,
I was never one to smother.
But enough is enough,
it's killing me inside.
I have a life too, you know,
that for years you had denied.
I love you still, and always will,
but I can't sit here and wait.
Life goes on, no matter how much it hurts,
you leaving us here alone; perhaps it was just fate.
But in my darkest hour,
Another came to light the black abyss.
Proving to me I can live again,
with soft whispers and a tender kiss.
I wasn't looking for love,
I thought it didn't exist.
But my dawn to the darkest night,
Has shown me all the love Ive missed.
And now she walks with me,
by my side, equal, partners in every way.
Upon one knee, I kneel, and ask her to be my wife,
because by my side forever is where I want her to stay.

This is what love is, when it comes from out of the blue.
To think that one we spent our life with, cared and loved,
and to see them walk away, without really turning and looking back.
But then that special feeling that you get deep down inside,
when just a small ray of hope shines brightly upon you.
That my dear friend, and brother, is when true love,
has captured your heart and love.
I am happy for you, and for her.
