A Visit to Pearl Harbor

Wind calmly sweeps the ocean,
Clearing it free of tragedy's tears.

Yet the air still clings to solemnity
While strains of Taps eternally soar .

Immortalized forever, the infamous day lives on,
Memory and Honor in duty covering the scars.

And life goes on.

Simple, short - and oh so complex.
I wish I could write short poems like this; you included everything without saying it all.

  • Moving...

    simple but eloquent and powerful.
