Barbie's Dead

She pulls her hair behind her ears
&& paints her face just right
Rosey cheeks, bright red lips
&& a smile that's so bright

Her eyelashes run for miles
&& her hair bounces as she walks
Slender body, perfect curves
A girl you couldn't mock

Her hair falls down in soft silk curls
The colour puts the sun to shame
Poofy lips, big blue eyes
Everyone knows her name

But, with this girl so perfect
With everything she needs
No one would ever think for once
That, behind her mask, she bleeds

Her life seems so flawless
But, she can't seem to stop the hurt
Gorgeous as she may be
She still feels like she's dirt

&& as she walks to face her life
She stops to turn around
Staring in the mirror, she sees
An escape that she has found

Rushing to the kitchen
She picks up a long knife
Creeping back to her bedroom
She decides to end her life

She pushes the blade to her skin
&& watches the blood flow
The slowly lays back on her bed
As she watches her life go

Hours pass before her parents
Notice she's not there
They walk up to the bedroom
Naive && unprepared

Their daughter lays on the bed
Wrists torn to shreads
Note clutches in her hand
"Sorry, Barbie's dead"

  • wow. thats realllllly good. everyone thinks im a sweet innocent little barbie (im blonde). but really, im a sad, depressed, emo kid that wants to be heard.

  • one word GENIUS

  • The rhyme is flawless and the poem just a great great write. Beautiful imagery and the ..beauty on the outside dying on the inside is a relate-able thing, commonly found if you have a real conversation with someone like this. The pressure to be perfect can mess someone up really bad! I love how you tied the ending to the title, just gorgeous!

    I like the darkness behind this! I never have been into the pop scene, so I can appreciate your poem! I like the rhyming, too!
