Your golden specks reflected
in your bright brown eyes,
the lightest of touches
could have reminded me why
I thought you were so great.
But you were never one to be loyal
you told me that from the start.
I just thought you had your problems
and we could work through them, but
my thoughts were all so wrong.
Months and months came and passed,
a new 'I love you' each day blossomed.
You'd never had a girl willing to work
through your problems with you,
but you misunderstood.
A love with such amazing moments,
you thought that I was just another one
of the girls you were so used to using,
not realizing that I meant what I said,
I was much to useless.
And though each new girl breaks my heart,
I just can't seem to say goodbye to you,
so as each dawn breaks and I see your sweet face,
I'll hope that the months to come bring better days,
though my heart is wary.
