Burners of the Sky

Every year they scorch the sky. With works of fire that amaze the eyes. They no longer wonder about the ball of light we rotate by.

And the attention taken from this marvel. Is a risk that’s too high. Unknown to most that the same sun that warms us.

Can release a flare that would cause the earth to fry. While the masses go to chain stores. And only care about the explosives they can buy.

Most don’t give a second thought about the ones foreign armies keep in supply. The ones they threaten us with. The ones our enemies promise they’ll try.

But all these fools look for are the pretty colors across the sky. Till a large flash blinds their eyes. And everything they love turns to ash and dies.

Only after what’s left of you wither’s in the wind. From the mushroom cloud on high.
