Then God

Then God

He made in his image

The flesh of man

Was clothed

With no sandals

But in the glory

Of the mighty hand

-

Through one man

Now the world's dieing

But one goes forsaken

With an outstretched arm

He raised a savior

To reclaim what was taken

-

The only flesh

That seems worth dieing for

Is not the sinful flesh

But flesh he made before

-

The only the flesh

That seems worth dieing for

Is not the sinful flesh

But flesh he made before

-

Not the sinful flesh

But flesh he made before

Not the sinful flesh

But flesh he made before

Please tell me what you think

  • I'm not a religious person but I appreciate the message and the images evoked in this beautiful piece of writing. The repetition and message are simple and very effective. Congrats on a good write.

This was really cool and creative, Paul. I liked how you used parts of the Bible and worked them into the poem. Also, the repeating stanzas towards the end of the poem were excellent. Thanks for sharing. Keep that pen flowing.
