Sway to the beat
That reminds me of the bayous
That haunt my sleep.
I wrapped my arms around you
And held on as you guided
My timid feet.
I'd long given up fighting it,
This love I feel for you, my sweet.
The singer speaks of a lady
Braving the world on her own
And her horses longing
For a bold rider who stands alone.
I want you to know that this rider
Would love you always,
The one who hid in the darkness with only the warmth of a lighter
To lure the sad lady into his embrace.
You saw me when no one else did
And that is how I knew
That you were the one I'd always wanted.
I spent many a lonely year wishing for someone like you.
I have only this short amount of time to hold you
And dance with you once more before I must go.
I'd suffer for eternity just to be with you
And never let go or feel as if I must hide you.
One day the world will know of our undying love
That lasted when everything else disappeared.
I just pray that I'll be there for you, my love,
The way you were always there for me.

beautifully sad and powerful. It makes the readers think to appreciate the ones that are close to them while they're still in reach. Great piece of work here and make sure you never stop writing
