My southern tea

Missing image

An attorney famous in his own right.

writer of books,

yankee at that,

not ever would you have thought him to be

my cup of southern tea.

married like me, three grown sons

many times we met,

walked, talked, held each other,

drove the mountains,

what ifs and pleas,

I wish I had and not looked back.

Some days and some days not.

God holds tight to country girls

like me.

Oh, my friend, the ache of what might have been in that inimitable voice of yours. This is great, but oh, so sad to me.

    Love,
    Camille

  • Awesome Sis...

Those slippery attorneys are hard to rope, just gotta use your spurs and dig in.

Very Nice Sweetie....Best wishes in the contest

  • Oh, go on, you just liked the idea of their money LOL!!!

  • WOW, are you ever inside my head. Yes we are protected from ourselves and causing other harm by our actions. Been there and done that, just thankful that GOD was there upon looking back.
A true to form poem so well written. The readers hold thier breath remembering when. Dancing way too close to the fire.

    Poet

Country girls I think are fine. Been my recollection that they can be much more sweeter then some of the hard north eastern women I have known. Lovely piece of poetry.
