I know I shouldn't be writing this,
But I thought I would let you know
I'm not sure how I'm doing Babe.
The butterflies you gave me flew away,
But they still visit with your memory.
And so do the pain and the tears.
My memory has been fading so slowly.
I can still remember your wrinkles.
The ones by your eyes when you smile.
Your words are still in my ears.
And the butterflies are my companions
when I hear my name in your sweet, soft voice.
I've come to see that you're right.
Although it hurts to think that I'm wrong.
I know that we could never have been,
But I can't change how I feel.
I miss you; I love you.
You should know that I've moved on.
I have a new set of butterflies.
The ones he gives me are happy and bright.
I know that he can't erase the pain,
But he fights away the tears.
I still look for you in my dreams,
But it turns out you've been replaced.
My heart is on the mend, Love.
I'm learning to live without you.

I could have made it rhyme, but this poem is more about the emotions behind the words than how it flows.
I never really care how it sounds anyway. I write to get it out. It's time to move on.

kind of embarrassing since i'm in the fireworks store.
