Resting in a field of hope
she lay watching sunset
give last pastel coats
to a sky of mourning.
Clinging to a raft of rainbow
soft billowing up high
touched by the last rays
of a heart still yearning.
Will he come home...
To hollow arms eagerly waiting
perhaps on a moonbeam of silver
with angelic wings and love
bathing her in white radiance.
Still she waits with shallow breath
depth of hope and fear in chest
that beats a message of her soul.
