I thought you'd never leave

I let you know
Before we ever knew anything
That there was nothing I could give you
Nothing except pain

You pushed on
Like my words had no meaning
They meant something to me
But I gladly took your ignorance

I gave you every part of me
Handed you ever piece of my heart
You chased my dreams for me
And I gladly followed you

And then it all came crashing down
Like the sea devours the sand
It all meant nothing
I had nothing

It's not like me to get so deep
I know I can't leave now
It's not like you to forget me
I'll stay here with you somehow
