Eternity entered into time
at last the moment of truth
the world had had all else
the scribes, pharisees and such
But, now the stage is set
for the one who is like no other
from humble beginnings he came
light, truth, water in a manger
A carpenter's son he was dubbed
yet he was far, far more than this
can anything 'good' come from Galilee?
God, in his infinite wisdom sent something good
He was love, embodied in human form
He was an instrument that served God's end
He did not come for the high and mighty
the proud and the haughty, the self-sufficient
He was found among those who had less
less of the world's approval, and stamp
less of the need to impress or the ability to do so
those who innately knew lack in varied degrees
His mission was so grand and extracted so much
that at one point he even sweat-ed blood
so excruciating the load that he was to carry
and yet, he followed through, nail, spear and all
Until finally, the predestined moment came
the tree that he had created, they used
to stretch his human form upon
they used the nails to fasten him tight
They used abuse to facilitate our salvation
whippings and mockings-jeers, raw, unadorned pain
when they had did their worst, their full desire
he was lain into a new tomb, but it wasn't over
For death could not keep life itself
as hate can never overcome love
and so a perfect sacrifice gave fruit
then justice and mercy shook hands.
