The Spirit of Radio

I remember having a feeling
It harbored in my heart
The rock 'n' roll music
I heard in the parking lot Wal-Mart

My heart beat with the drums
And my soul sang along
My quavering voice repeated the words,
And didn't even care if I got them wrong

My ma turned the car off
The music died
It turned on again
When we we started to ride

I know it was a hard rock song
By a band called Rush
And ever since then
When I heard them, I did hush

Why? Because they are wonderful
I love to listen to them on the oldies station,
And I've never gotten over the wonder
That this music is cast across the nation

The dirge of the singers wail comes through my boombox
While I lay my weary head upon a pink pillow,
The guitar riff so heavy and distorted
Makes me calm and mellow

I told you my tale of my love of Rush
I love to listen to them where ever I go
It is all around us now:
The Spirit of Radio

  • As MoonlitRoses has put it, this is a cool write. I don't listen to Rush while laying on a pink pillow, however I do listen to them every chance that I get. Good luck with my contest.

  • This ish a cool write. I likes it =]
