He is the modern Palliachi.
A seasoned veteran with a masterful routine.
He takes the stage every chance he gets, beginning the show with a bang.
He flashes his unmistakble mile-wide grin, his eyes alive with green fire, his white face seemingly all the more pale in the sharp contrast.
He wastes no time in setting up the joke, laughing excitedly as his hand brushes against the corsage on his purple suit.
He is a master, keeping a vice-grip on their attention, leaving them hanging on every word.
He stoops down, jumps up, cackling madly as he rushes toward his climax, prepared to give his audience more than just a silly pun.
At the threshold he is interrupted, his punchline torn from him by the wry undercut of a lone heckler.
He stumbles, his grin vanishing from his face as the showstopper steps forward once again as a symbol that he is ahead of his time.
That some people just don't get the joke.
He frowns for a moment, exiting stage left one more time.
Reluctantly, he retreats home, his festive facade falling away, his mind retreating to a far off place in the past.
He sits alone, his eyes blazing brighter in the darkness, the windows of his soul revealing a question.
Is he on the outside looking in, or the inside looking out?
A single cackle rips through the night.

This is obviously about the Joker, my favorite comic book villain. I usually don't do contests, so I hope this turns out well.
