[Mother]
Two kids,
Two jobs,
Food and shelter..
Though.. It costs a lot of money..
There's just never enough money to go around.
Waking up every morning,
coming back and leaving again that evening.
Counting out money and stacking files and paperwork.
Yet, not enough money from payday.
[Daughter]
A single mother,
with two jobs.
I know how she wants to give us what we want.
But there's just never enough money.
She has bills for the power, Internet, Cable, and car.
She gets yelled at by grandma if she doesn't have enough money.
Trying her best just to put food on the table.
It's not her fault if she can't do it all at the same time.
Life isn't Burger King. You just can't have your way.
[Son]
Wanting a father,
but it's just not the time.
Sister and I wait till mom gets home.
Watching TV and playing on the Internet.
Or going to grandma's house to eat.
The shelves are empty and the plates are bare.
The bowls sit quiet waiting for cereal to be put in them.
Cups stay silent not to tease the plates of bowls, nor spoons, forks or knives.
Mother can do it.
I believe in her.
[Mother at the store with kids]
Wanting to walk in with money.
Wanting to walk out with supplies for the house.
But today... There's hesitation.
Standing in line, waiting to check out.
Swiping my card my balance came up as $0.00
Embarrassed and walking out of the store with nothing.
Not even a piece of bread.
Just nothing.
Going home.
And sleeping it over.
That I wish my kids will forgive me.
I just had..
No more money..

I've been there. It's--hopeless, but as a child I never struggled to forgive my parents because I knew they trusted God to provide for us, through the hospital bills for mom and the inconsistant work for dad. Well written, it hit home and makes me think about how much we as a society depend on money and forget about true love and trust in God.

I feel ya
My Mama went through the same thing. She stuggled with jobs and worked herself so hard now she's dissable. She was an amazing woman she always made a way for us to have christmas presents too. She thought I didn't see it but I knew we were broke. Now she's not afraid to hide it from me. Now I know we'er broke. -
I should give you the money I have. You need it more than I do..
