Southern Belle

Young and independent
She can stand tall and watch over her life
But it still feels empty and there has been something missing

She was told that she was pushing those she loved away

Strong and fighting
He stands for what he believe in
But can never understand where he is going next

People never considered him intelligent

He looked for her without realizing it
Dove into a life he was never sure of
Spent every minute fighting for a place

Reoccurring dreams taunting him at every turn

She had tried to wait patiently
Living alone was what she knew now
Spent most of her time thinking about life

One said he wasn't getting any younger

He asked her quietly if she knew
So bad did he desire to know
That he would leave behind his whole world

He was told wherever his niche was to just call home

She wondered how he could know so absolutely
But she knew that fate had a way of twisting things
So that what you desired most came along in the most unusual ways

She always wanted someone who wanted to know her

He spent the time to read her words
Absorb them and understand them
His comments were always positive

She was told that she would never find anyone better

Truth was she hadn't found anyone better
He had found her
She let his words fill her and she enjoyed his company

He wanted to understand forever

From his Southern Belle

wow....there is definitely a story coming to life here.
a few verses painted an image of a young soldier and love story between he and his young bride.
    beautifully written...great job!
