Standing in the Dairy Queen
sorry for myself
bitter lost teen,
when the jukebox sang
about growing old
with emotional pain
I felt the moments slip
that we miss
along life's trip.
For a moment, Neil Pearts words
helped me see
how my life would be.
From that moment, healed
i had a new purpose
that i could wield.
To live life, no regrets
to live on purpose
no luck, no game, no bets.
I thank Rush for my Will
for awakening me
when Time Stood Still.
Author notes
Based on my real experience, hearing "Time Stand Still" by Rush while at a peak of depression, age 15. Changed my sorry life for the better and defined a new outlook.

Outstanding
You have found a very good reason to continue onward. Rush has that same power over me. You have set some wonderful words before us be proud of what you have written. I would be. Good luck with my contest
