Alpha's Omega

I take her hand into mine;
Cold skin shocks me into a new cognition.
She's beautiful,
but she hates me.
What is it she wants?
Love?
I can give her love.
But no,
She wants more...
She wants everything...
She pulls me against her body,
her breath kisses my neck.
"Now close your eyes...
for I am death..."
Here
in the palms of mortality
I feel most alive

Author notes

Feeling very inspired by Jim Morrison's poetry, being the anniversary of his death was a few days ago. This is the first free verse I've ever done so it was a little weird for me.

Opinions and critiques?? =)

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

  • This is fantastic. It was a really beautiful peace, the words flow together wonderfully and it seems you have no trouble with free verse whatsoever. Excellent job poet, another beautiful write.
