The pain inside burns and stings,
With the sorrow and loneliness it brings,
But I must survive all alone,
When this cold heart is all I’ve known,
Nothing can ever change what I am,
Not even the passing of time’s sand.
Though the years may wear,
And I don’t know how I’ll fare,
I’ll still go on and survive,
And try my best to hide,
How empty I am within my soul,
Where a heart lives that was never quite whole.
Still I’ll go on until the end,
And you’ll ignore every word I’ve said.

"How empty I am within my soul,"
My favorite line.
This was very raw and very appreciated. Well done!
And, by the way, your words are not unheard by everyone. Not all ears are deaf. -
