Better pitch than gray obscurity.
Better dark than slights beneath half-shade.
Pretend painted walls are within reach
So as to improve prison scenery.
Collared neck prevents more pleasant observations.
I wish that I were blindfolded
And firing squad bullets brought death quickly.
Instead of this slow motion surrender
Where I know particles of punishment
Slowly move through air to find me.
