I love you,so I'm young...

Years pass so quick
the memories start fading if
they're not written in a piece of paper
People may change,
but the heart, always stays the same

An old man is standing on the door of the olds people home,
with a bag in his hands...
behind him, an elder woman stands
she's holding her package too
she caught his hand and squeezed it
as an action of encouragement...

That exact moment
time stopped;
the only thing that existed for the man,
were the memories of an era,
the era he was young
he is bringing back to his mind this days

He meets his wife for the very first time;
They are on the beach,
playing hide and seek
they play with the sand,
they swim at night

Oh, there it is...
the happiest day of his life
their marriage!!!

the anxiety, the stress of waiting
the first look into his newborn child
After that, there it goes the second one...

It is the first time they're moving house since the kids were born
the first graduation...and the second one...

How did years past so quickly without even understanding...
Now it is the day his kids are getting married...
his daughter first,although younger...
and his son is second for once

He still remembers when his name was given to his first grandson...
his wife's name,
the woman he adores, and love more than anything
given after that to the next baby...
Oh, how did years past so quick....

There he is now
left there, in a place he doesn't know
he doesn't belong to
People might say his very old...
but he doesn't feel like that;

The love in his heart keeps his young in spirit
alive...
Don't look at the wrapping paper...
it doesn't matter
the only thing that matters is that what is inside...
the way you feel

He finally wakes up from his thoughts
he looks his wife into her eyes
"I still love you,
after all these years we've been together...
and I will continue till the end of me..."

He decided to enter that door...
it wasn't frightening him anymore
he was there,
he was not alone,
he had his soul...his wife...his love

A song came out of his lips while going to his room
a whisper....
"I love you babe....,tra la la la la la..."

  • wow this poem is really touching i like it *happy

  • I actually have tears in my eyes after reading the most beautiful poem about lasting love I've think I've ever read.
I loved how you took the reader though the happiest days of this mans life, and how in the end, it all came back round to the women he started his 'life' with.
    Well done. Thanks for entering
