On - gentle Rivers

sometimes Ohio
before she gathers him
like driftwood in her arms

as she bends and curves

shows him

all her gentle ways

turning one last time
before she looses herself

into

Mississippi

says

every river
makes a hero

I adore the melody in this...can almost hear it audibly. I live where there are many bodies of water: rivers, lakes, the ocean. There are so many trains trestles and bridges, but it is the reflection of the ever changing sky and the seasons as the rivers journey in myriad attitudes and colors, inexorably pulled to the ocean. Lots of beached driftwood near the ocean, but it's burnished dress on the banks of the rivers at this time of year....

    Beautiful Expression

I find a rich subtle flavour every line of this work with a tender expression of a hero. My heartfelt thank you darling for gifting a brilliant cadence, a brilliant work, darling simply beautiful.

I love your writing so much, its always suffused with this tender, gentle wisdom. this feels like quite an inspiring piece, a battle whisper for lovers....."every river makes a hero" speaks to me of the growth we each are faced with in the meandering course of love. it is a hero's journey in many ways and it is good to remember that when the waters become turbulent. beautiful poetry as always.

  • No matter how you look at this universe, it sparkles until we feel the depths of heart and brave it's adventures.
