You wish for the love you once had
a dream of distortion,
she never loved you
and never will
You were close enough to him
close enough to pretend
you,
your being,
was just an illusion
You brought her happiness,
washed away her pain
picked her up from the cold callous depths
that he had thrown her to
she saw your face and smiled,
loving him
she told you that you were her focus
but knew it was him
you loved,
you truly loved, unconditionally
loved without price
making yourself cheaper to her
worthless
she told you she never wanted it to end
then threw you away
left you in the cold
you were fool enough to have hope
fool enough to believe in love
fool enough to be a tool
she said you were better,
a nicer guy
selfless
then told you to leave and never come back
you gave all you could,
but it wasn't enough
for her to stay
when he came back,
the illusion was shattered
and you were no more
she never loved you
and never will

Harsh and blunt emotion, which I like.
"making yourself cheaper to her
worthless"
I relate.
Well done, good luck!

Wow great write!
I really enjoy this piece. I know this feeling quite well, but what can you do? They can't be honest with you if they are not honest with themselves. I love the flow and the message, excellent job!
