On patent leather heels
shame takes it's place;
asphalt roads cracked with wear
hardly the kind to be walking on in stilts.
Stumbling towards the sun,
either before or after the night consumes,
the couture barbie moves her plastic legs
in hopes of finding a new way to be loved by public eye.
Not quite the finest of wine and cheese dinners
her dirt stained face still washes pretty
while the world around her watches
as she crumbles on another failed catwalk.

wonderfully written.
thanks for entering. -
Lives built on weak foundations . . . so true for so many. This is very thought provoking and I like the way you examine the external appearance of the woman with the internal experience she has. Well done.
