Autumn blows o'er graves
Bowels flutter, knees weaken
Urine warms ones legs

The picture gave me shivers, but your words were truly frightening -- so few and yet, SO scary! Lovecraft is known for scaring the piss out of readers, so your poem is apropo! Congratulations!

Thank you Lita for reading and commenting. I am glad you enjoyed the poem. I am sure that I am not the first to write a haiku in the horror genre, but I dont believe it is a common practice.

Congrats on the well deserved shiny Chuckers!! A very different haiku and quite dark.. I like it!

It is a non-traditional subject for a haiku. I kind of wanted to try something different. I am glad you enjoyed it.

I think I love you, whoever you are. I enjoy haiku, and this is the first entry in this form. And the fact that you have Lovecraft involved makes me giggle one of those insane giggles you only hear in asylums. The picture is so perfect with this poem, no one is more chilling then Lovecraft! Amazing!
Thank you for entering and best of luck to you.

I don't think the horror genre is commonly expressed in haiku. I read Lovecraft when I was much younger. I have not revisited his work in years. However, I still remember the impression it made on me at the time. Thank you for your comments.
