He could have survived
if he would have opened his eyes
and listened to the words
that were so beautifully sung.
"You're not alone
there is more to this I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell"
My son died all alone
escaping life by being stoned.
Hurting deep inside
trying to numb the pain.
This was my biggest fear
as a mother who loved him deeply.
Knowing the potential he had
in sharing his story with others.
Now my eyes are opened
to these words of wisdom.
These words for me to hear
through all my fears and many tears.
"You're not alone
there is more to this I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell"
Through my life's tragedies,
severe child abuse,
then the death of my son.
I've felt so alone, devastated to the bone.
Now I know my son will live on
as I tell of his story as well as my own.
To bring hope to a hurting world
sending them this powerful message.
"You're not alone
there is more to this I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell"
Somehow I've survived to tell
in helping others whom are frail.
That you are not alone in your fears,
for I have survived through years of tears.
"You're not alone
there is more to this I know
You can make it out
You will live to tell"
