you told me,
"if you were bottled, you could
cure a disease."
I wish I could say "I'm too weak to
be your cure," but the truth is,
my weaknesses are a politician's
poker face; my faults read like
ransom notes, stuttered and
unsure of their importance.
you tell me of a treatment
for leukemia and senility -- but
you are the cure for
a disease I've never had.
Author notes
prompt: # 8. I have the Cure
song quoted: 'Guernica' - Brand New.
& for the record, there are a few words referenced from the song "Speakers Blown" by Hit The Lights -- "read like ransom notes" -- so I wanted to make sure I cited them.
hope this works for your contest.
