Sister Sacrifice

Silently you follow
Soles of cotton on a path of down
guiding, steering, whispering
unheard, seeking niether gratitude nor reward
sacrifice unchosen, ackknowledgement absent
salvation of your charge your objective
eternal yet somehow finite
keeper of secrets and desires, silent, forgiving
saviour to those few who listen
alas too few can hear
for my shame, i am among the many
we who envy the few
blind to your wisdom
unenlightened by your presence
unaware of the window to my soul
yet grateful
still
of your love.
