The Photobooth

Each little strip reflected a once grown memory,
Of the times we shared together; at the Summer fairgrounds.
Dozens of flashes left us almost blind,
I would be lying if I said I didnt want to go back.

It was posted on my mirror, from Fall until Winter.
Then you just happened to leave me, for that one girl.
When I looked at that faded photograph, Of us kissing.
Her face replaced mine, well who I used to be [with you]

My mirror shattered &and the photograph fell,
Onto the floor right below my non-matching socks.
The photograph burned, your face then mine.
Staring at what we used to be, everything came back.

I remember the cotton candy smell on your t-shirt,
Or the way your hair just seemed to fall in front of your face.
Maybe it was how the photobooth ran out of paper,
&and we waited and wait until they refilled it.

Everything I write is just because of you,
Maybe one day you'll take me back into your arms.
Just to keep me warm at night, when i feel alone.
No matter what happens, Best friends forever.

  • EPIC!!!

This was a beautiful write. Captivating and mind numbing. Sense reviving and thought provoking. It was suffocatingly beautiful. The emotion was raw and real which accented the imagery nicely. BRAVA.

I like this poem. I think you could use without some of the over-description, because I found in a few places you went overboard with adjectives, but that's ok. Btw, you don't need to capitlize seasons. I learned that a few days ago. Good job and good luck!

  • Awwe

It's bloody amazing m'love. Deep and emotional write indeed and you didn't even have to express it. Just telling the story the way you did, made it priceless..And the emotions soaked in.

Great job. One of my faves. <3
