Falling Star

I lay on that black trampoline,
and stare at the stars.
Wondering if all those eyes,
are watching me too.

Is each sparkling form,
a life that was lost,
left to watch over others...
the family and friends that they left.

My mind questons the possibilities.
Might I ever join the sky someday?
Is my great-grandma,
watching me as I think.

I see their eyes,
amoung the navy sky.
Can they see mine,
within this dark pallet of which I gaze?

And as I return to the house,
where the air conditioning waits,
I make a wish,
as one of those eyes, winks at me.

Author notes

Not my best I know...I haven't really written anything in quite awhile.
